From the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, there were ten men,
The best of people after the prophets, noble and righteous.
They stayed true to their covenant with the Most Merciful,
So He rewarded them with joy and gladness.
Paradise was promised to them — what a glad tiding, what a glad tiding!

1. Abu Bakr (RA)
First among them was the father of Aisha, the wife of the Prophet.
Abu Bakr — the first to believe — the Truthful, the companion in the cave.
He always loved the Prophet, never disobeyed him.
He spent and freed slaves, never hesitated — seeking Allah, so his reward was great.

2. Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA)
Second came Umar Al-Farooq — the devil feared and hated him.
Tender-hearted yet strong — the revelation would agree with his views.
He opened lands with faith, ruled justly, and avoided self-interest.
Islam was once strange, but it was honored by Umar.

3. Uthman ibn Affan (RA)
Third, the Possessor of Two Lights — Uthman, who funded the hardship army.
Modest and gentle, he would revive the night in worship.
The Prophet pledged allegiance for him beneath the tree.
He compiled the Qur’an and sent it across the lands by trustworthy hands.

4. Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA)
The fourth, closest in kin — the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet.
Ali — the gate of knowledge, supporter and protector of the Messenger.
Like Harun to Musa, he kept his secrets and strengthened his mission.
He who loves Ali and his two sons — Hasan and Husayn — is beloved by Allah.

5. Talhah ibn Ubaydullah (RA)
Talhah at Uhud, never fearing what the disbelievers did.
He fulfilled Allah’s promise and gave generously beyond measure.

6. Az-Zubayr ibn Al-Awwam (RA)
The Prophet’s disciple — Az-Zubayr — swift to return in battle.
Equal to a thousand in justice, never carried malice or betrayal.

7. Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (RA)
Sa’d — the Prophet’s uncle — fought for Islam and supported it.
His supplications were always answered, devout without seeking fame.

8. Sa’id ibn Zayd (RA)
Sa’id ibn Zayd, son of a natural monotheist — a man of innate goodness.
He fought in battles, led conquests — his bravery raised his honor.

9. Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf (RA)
The ascetic merchant — Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf — a noble of the Zuhrah clan.
A generous trader, he gave in charity and served the Prophet’s family.

10. Abu Ubaydah ibn Al-Jarrah (RA)
And finally, the trustworthy one — Abu Ubaydah — untouched by worldly temptations.
He conquered Syria, the trustworthy of the Ummah — the people knew his worth.

بايع عنه رسول الله يوم البيعة تحت الشجرة
جمع القرآن وأرسله للأمصار بأيدي سفرة
والرابع أقربهم رحماً ابن العم وزوج الزهرة
باب العلم علي كان ولي رسول الله وظهره
كان كهارون إلى موسى يحفظ سره يشدد أزره
أحب الله محب علي وابنيه الحسنين الخيرة
طلحة في أحد لا يخشى أبداً ما يفعله الكفرة
صدق الله العهد وأنفق مالاً لا يحصى من كثرة
وحواري رسول الله الزبير سريع الكرة
يعدل ألفاً بين الناس لا يحمل حقداً أو غدراً
سعد خال رسول الله جاهد للإسلام ونصره
كان مجاب الدعوة أبداً وتقياً لا يطلب شهرة
وسعيد بن زيد بن عمرو بن نفيل ذي الفطرة
خاض حروباً قاد فتوحاً وشجاعته رفعت ذكره
والزاهد عبد الرحمن بن العوف وسيد زهرة
تاجر صدق ينفق كرماً أم رسول الله وبره
عامر وهو أبو عبيدة لم تستطع الدنيا أسره
فتح الشام أمين الأمة عرف الناس جميعاً قدره
من أصحاب رسول الله رجال عشرة
خير الناس بعد الرسل كرام برره
أبو بكر عمر وعثمان وعلي وسعيد وسعد
طلحة والزبير وعامر وابن العوف تمام العشرة
